Skylands Kings NA3HL Junior Kings

The 2017-18 Season marks the Kings’ third season in the North American 3 Hockey League.Entering its seventh season in 2016-17, the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL), one of 6 USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier III Junior leagues, serves as one of the top training grounds in the country by providing the best coaching, exposure and developmental vehicles available for student-athletes in its classification.

The primary mission of the NA3HL, which is managed organizationally by the NAHL, is to provide a structured developmental environment for student-athletes whose youth options are limited but are still reaching their potential and have aspirations of playing in the NAHL or United States Hockey League (USHL) and eventually the NCAA or American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA).

The player advancement during the 2015-16 season to the NAHL and other junior leagues set a new standard for player movement. In addition to the 40+ players who advanced to play in the NAHL throughout the season, 32 NA3HL players were either tendered or drafted by NAHL teams during the 2015-16 season, having the most movement to the NAHL out of any Tier III junior league, along while dozens more made NCAA commitments.

After a disappointing opening weekend, losing two games to the Binghamton Senators, the Skylands Junior Kings rebound with a weekend sweep of Niagara Falls.  Eric Vanderhoff lead the weekend in points with 10, while Craig Garrigan chipped in for 8. Several other players were multiple point getters as well.  “The team is really starting to come together and work well with each other”, remarked head coach, Adam Mitchell.  “Every player gave it their all this weekend.”

The Junior Kings travel September 29-30 for a rematch with Binghamton, and are hoping for a different outcome.  You can catch all the Junior Kings action on HockeyTech.com.  The Kings are not home again until October 27th.
